Beringer Founder’s Estate Cab ’07

This archival post has been moved from Blogarhythms where it was originally posted on 9/13/2010.

Another nice Beringer cab with a bit of umph.

Vineyard:     Beringer
Varietal:       Cabernet Sauvignon (Founder’s Estate)
Vintage:       2007
Appellation: California
Price:          $13.99

Notes:         Lots of dark berry flavor in this medium- to full-bodied red (It isn’t light, but I wouldn’t quite put it in the meaty/chewy category).  Good tannic structure to cellar some if you wish, but certainly approachable enough to enjoy right now.  Beringer’s website indicates the grapes came from the Central Valley and North Coast, thus the California appellation.  I liked it.  Definitely a good beef or lamb accompaniment.
